Wildlife of the Yellowstone

A drive along the roads of the Yellowstone provides an opportunity to see a large variety of wildlife.

Bison (buffalo) are viewed in the meadows and along the roads. The one show here was seen in the Firehole Lake area.

In the early spring, herds can be seen with young calves such as those shown here.

This coyote was seen stalking the bird on the right.

These two elk were very "shy" and it was hard to get near them for photos.

Deer such as those shown above were seen in parts of the park at the lower elevations.
