A Virtual Tour of San Francisco

The following photos were taken during a trip to the San Francisco area after attending the Syllabus '96 Conference at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California.

This is one of several cable cars that run east and west along California Street in the downtown area from the Ferry Building area to the Nob Hill area. These cable cars provide a quick way of getting from the Embarcadero Center area and Huntington Park.

This cable car is one of several that run North and South from the downtown area to Fisherman's Wharf along Powell and Mason Streets. The Powell/Mason and Powell/Hyde cable cars are often very crowded during the tourist season.

Grace Cathedral (right) and the Fairmont Hotel (below) are several of the sights observed along California Street.

During the summer months, the fog often obscures the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge for most of the day. This is a view of the bridge from the Fort Point area.

One of the best surprises was a trip to the Cliff House and the Seal Rocks. This provided a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and the opening the San Francisco Bay.
