The ToolBook Rapid Development Suite Developers
The developers of this suite of tools are Tom Hall (TCC Publishing, Inc.) and Lee Karns (Vertical View Software Associates). Together, the developers have over 25 years of experience in the use of ToolBook dating back to 1991. Both have provided training, consulting, and development services to a large variety of Clients throughout the United States.
Tom Hall is a Trainer, Consultant, Developer, and Author. His books on ToolBook have been valuable resources to many new as well as experienced users of ToolBook since 1991. His most recent book, The Actions Editor, HTTP Post, and Simulations in ToolBook Instructor 2004, is the most comprehensive resource on the latest release of ToolBook. He was a Contract Trainer for SumTotal Systems, Inc (STS) for several years and has trained over 1000 individuals in the use of ToolBook both as a trainer for STS and as an independent trainer. Tom Hall as developed and consulted on numerous CD-ROM and Web-Based Training applications.
Lee Karns has a well rounded background in the planning, design, development and deployment of computer based training applications. He began using ToolBook in 1991 as a professional support staff at Cleveland State University developing computer deployed courseware for the Philosophy, Biology, Anthropology, Speech, Business and Education departments.
In 1997 he was hired by Asymetrix, now SumTotal Systems, Inc. While at SumTotal Systems he served in a wide range of capacities. His job titles included:
- ToolBook Programmer for custom development
- Project Manager
- Technical Trainer
In 1994 he founded Vertical View Software Associates. VVSA is a consulting network of Software Professionals specializing in the process of Computer Based Training initiatives.
Lee is recognized as an expert within the ToolBook community, especially in the creation of Performance-based Software Simulation training.
