Types of Lessons
There are five different types of lessons that
can be written using the Storyboard tool:
- Simulation with Show Me
Optional (Sim SBBuilder.tbk)
- Simulation in Demonstration Mode Only
(Demo Sim SBBuilder.tbk)
- Simulation with All Three Modes (Sim1
SBBuilder.tbk)
- Content (Content SBBuilder.tbk)
- Quiz (Quiz SBBuilder.tbk)
Each of these is represented by a different
empty Storyboard Builder file (tbk). Those
files are showing in ( ) above.
Simulation with Show Me
Optional
The Simulation with Show Me Optional
lesson provides Practice and Assessment modes with a
Demonstration Mode (Show Me) optional. The popup shown
below provides the Writer with an outline of this type of lesson. Each
lesson of this type will contain a Title, Score Page, and Popup Page as standard page types.
Most lessons will also have the Task Outline page type. The remaining page types
are inserted as needed to build the lesson.
The graphic below shows a typical outline
along with a listing of the various Simulation Scenarios available. A
later section will explain each Simulation Scenario.

Simulation with All Three Modes
The Simulation with All Three Modes
is exactly the same as Simulation (With Show Me) except all three
modes are available to the Learner from a Topic Mode Selection
Page.

Simulation in Demonstration Mode Only
This lesson is very similar to the
Simulation except it is for Demonstration Mode only. It
contains only two standard page types: Title and Introduction
Page. It also has an additional Scenario that is not found for
Simulation lessons. Note that this does not have a Score Page
since it is Demonstration Mode only.

Content
The Content lesson can be used for
basic instruction such as Introductory topics. It is the less
interactive that the Simulation lesson. The graphic below shows the page
types available for a Content lesson. A quiz section can be added for
review of the content presented. This section can be scored if desired.

Quiz
The Quiz lesson can be used as an
Assessment at the end of the course if desired. It includes Multiple
Choice, True/False, and Fill in the Blank question
types and each question can include a graphic for needed.
