The Bodie Island Lighthouse is located just a few miles south of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore entrance outside of South Nags Head, North Carolina. The Bodie Island Lighthouse has been in operation since 1847. During this time it has undergone several restorations. The Bodie Island Light is closed to the public since it is still a working lighthouse but a visitors' center in the old keepers house is open to the public. The large grounds around the lighthouse provides many different spectacular views of the Bodie Island Light.
