Some Features of the Tutorials

Problem Solving: Step-by-Step problem solving is found throughout the tutorials. The user will often have options to click on buttons to show cancellations or hints on what to do. |

Hotwords: Many screens contain hotwords that the user can click on to get more information. The hotwords are red and the mouse pointer turns into the hand as shown here when the user moves the mouse over the hotword (or phrase). |

Graphics: The Tutorials contain around 200 graphics from the textbook including artwork such as that shown here as well as photographs.

|
Tables: The Tutorials contain a variety of tables of information. Many of the tables such as the one shown here are interactive. The user clicks on buttons to display the information. |

|
Effective Use of Colors: Colors are used throughout to highlight formulas and structures. Functional groups are highlighted in a similar manner.

|
Notes: Buttons throughout the Tutorials provide additional information (Notes or More).

|
Additional Questions: Throughout the Tutorials, buttons provide access to additional questions on the current topic. |

|
Videos: The Tutorials contain 26 Video Clips from the World of Chemistry. Each clip is a short segment between 10 and 50 seconds in length. The user can use the controls to Play, Pause, and Stop the clip. They can also use the slider to Step through the clip one frame at a time. |

Review Quizzes: Most of the Sections contain one or more Quiz pages that provide a quick review of the current topic.

|
Sample Test Questions: Most all of the Sections conclude with a Sample Test Question, giving the user an idea of how the material in that section will be tested. Feedback is provided for an incorrect answer.
